François grew up in Nanterre, France. He first earned a Technical Degree in Chemistry from the IUT d’Orsay, Paris-Sud and then left Paris to enter the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier. His educational background allowed him to get industrial placements at Bayer CropScience, Lyon and Syngenta, Stein. François joined the group in March 2017 for his master's thesis and started his PhD after graduation, his research focuses on the construction of complex architectures via asymmetric allylic alkylation and C-H activation processes. Outside the lab, you could find François at the gym or on the mat, practising Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In a different register, he also loves playing bass guitar.
